Choose a wood that suits your style and budget. It is important that it is dry, straight and dimensionally stable.
For the corner connectors and post bases, we recommend using wood that is as well levelled as possible so that everything can be installed cleanly and securely.

Where do you get your suitable wood from?
For your Pergola you can easily select the wood yourself on site. You have various options here:

- DIY stores (e.g. ObiBauhaus, Hornbach): Large selection of common wood species such as larch, Douglas fir or pine - available immediately.
- Specialised wood trade: Larger selection of higher quality, better seasoned woods and often more precise cuts.
- Sawmills or regional timber merchantsIdeal for particularly customised wood, often cheaper and more sustainable (shorter transport routes).
To ensure that everything fits without any problems, we will provide you with a detailed Woodcut plan. It lists all the exact dimensions and quantities you need, so all you have to do is cut the wood to size - quickly, easily and without the need for lengthy measuring.
TipWhen buying, make sure that the timber is well seasoned, dry and as straight as possible (e.g. solid structural timber - KVH) for a permanently stable and attractive pergola.
